Can The King's Men buck the rubbish poker movie trend?

Poker movies, Rounders excepted, have a pretty chequered history. And as for poker scenes in other films? Well they're usually even more ridiculous and end up with quad aces against a royal flush.

Another band of movie makers are having a go at cracking the poker genre in the form of The King's Men. According to producers Capital Films, it's a “lean crime thriller with an edgy, grimy atmosphere...about the underground world of poker where the only thing left to gamble is...”

It's still in the funding and re-casting stage but there is a trailer. Take a sneak peek below.
