Bruno Lopes wins Euro Finals of Poker

Tuesday, 31 January 2012

There was a home victory in the biggest event at the Euro Finals of Poker series in Paris as Bruno Lopes took down the €5,000 Main Event Diamond Championship after outlasting a 109-runner field.

As expected, the tournament was dominated by the home contingent with no fewer than six of the final table coming from France. One of the outsiders to go deep though was Briton Zimnan Ziyard who eventually busted out in sixth place for a €31,065.

None could match Lopes though, who eventually beat fellow Frenchman Aubin Cazals to the €129,410 first prize.

The final table positions and payouts were as follows:

1 LOPES Bruno « Kool Shen » (France) € 129 410
2 CAZALS Aubin (France) € 93 190
3 NAYE Jérôme (France) € 62 130
4 ROY Alain (France) € 46 600
5 THOREL Jean Noël (France) € 38 830
6 ZIYARD Zimnan (UK) € 31 065
7 LABAT Antoine (France) € 25 890
8 FAUBERT Vladimir (Canada) € 20 710
9 HYTOENEN Sampsa (Finland) € 15 535
