Wednesday, 9 June 2010

It's not only at the World Series that British players been making their presence felt this week. After Praz Bansi and James Dempsey's bracelet wins comes news of a couple of big online scores for a pair of up and coming online players.

Young Yorkshireman Jamie Sykes took down the PokerStars Sunday Million for $204,300 after a three way chop. Sykes, known online as Bear4Arms, outlasted a massive field of 7,309 players to scoop the massive payday.

Joining Sykes in the winner's enclosure at the weekend was Daniel Carter who won the PartyPoker Monthly Million. Lucky_scrote, as he's known online, earned a very tidy $200,000 for his weekend endeavours. Carter proved that he's not just an online ace with a very deep run in the latest $1,000 No Limit Hold'em event at the WSOP. The youngster eventually busted out in twentieth place for $13,542.

Not a bad weekend's work.
