Brett Watson leads Aussie Millions Day 1a; 153 entries

Monday, 23 January 2012

Day 1a of the $10,600 Aussie Millions 2012 Main Event is done and dusted with Brett Watson leading the 68 survivors to Day 2 on Wednesday. The total field for Day 1a was 153 players, short of last year’s total but not too shabby.

Joe Hachem gave the “shuffle up and deal” but ran off to play the $100,000 buy-in event (and make the final table, no less). Big names who survived included Brits David Vamplew and Rupert Elder while Barry Greenstein and Faraz Jaka also made it through to Day 2.

One surprise was Patrik Antonius, who forwent the $100,000 event to play here. Unfortunately for him he may regret that decision as he hit the rail halfway through the day.
