Brett Angell Heads UKIPT London Final

Brett Angell Heads UKIPT London Final

Sunday, 12 October 2014

Brett Angell is the man to beat heading into today's UKIPT London final table. The man from Middlesbrough took the lead with 26 players left in unlikely fashion.

A chop looked favourire when both Angell and Russia's Vladimir Troyanovskiy got it in with AK. Four diamonds and a flush later and the IT professional was in control of the tournament. He'll start the final with 5,190,000. Troyanovskiy didn't let that disappointment get to him though and recovered to close the day in fourth place on 2,705,000.

Squeezed between Angell and Troyanovskiy are US tournament pro Nickolas Davies (4,000,000) and Denmark's Rasmus Agerskov (3,150,000).

Britain's Mark James (2,300,000) follows in fifth. The UKIPT is yet to crown a female winner but that could change if Caicai Huang (1,960,000) get on a roll. Huang has enjoyed plenty of success on the UK tournament circuit including a win in the Dusk Till Dawn Deep Stack.

Rounding out the final eight are Swizterland's Fabrizio Fuchs (835,000) and Italy's Sandro Mescola (1,240,000).

The remaining players are guaranteed a payday of £12,800 with the winner set to walk away with £133,500.
