Following on from this year’s hugely successful Prague Poker Festival, the organisers are planning a similar event in Austria next year.
Set to take place from February 25th, 2013, the Austrian Poker and Vienna Mind Sports Festival will follow much the same format as Prague, with a range of competitive endeavours being held over a two week period. Vienna’s Imperial Riding School Renaissance Hotel and Casino Montessino will be the venues, and players will be able to engage in such pursuits as: Chess, Backgammon, Bridge, Open-Face Chinese Poker and, of course, Poker.Amongst the multiple tournaments being hosted in the city during this time will be the WPT’s Vienna leg, as well as another incarnation of the increasingly popular GSOP.The two companies behind the intellectual festival are Living it Loving it Ltd and Mind Sports (International) Ltd. Commenting on their latest collaborative venture, Dave Brannan, CEO of Mind Sports, said,“This is the first time that we are hosting a festival across two venues. Our poker and mind sports events have developed such a robust following that more space is required. We have also decided to meet the increasing demand for the introduction of a Chinese Open-Face Poker tournament as well as a dedicated junior mind sports tournament --integrating a robust chess programme this year in order to give the community even more variety and choice.”As part of the festival poker players will also be able to obtain special discounted hotel packages.
