Batey, Vamplew Head UKIPT Edinburgh

Friday, 18 January 2013

The opening flight of UKIPT Edinburgh is in the book with Liam Batey the man with the big stack. A total of 254 players took to the tables at the beautiful Balmoral hotel for Day 1a and by the close of play just 124 remained with Batey out in front on 115,400.

The only other player to build a six-figure stack was none other than 2010 EPT London winner David Vamplew. The Scot finished on 106,200 and is well placed for another deep run.

Other notables who enjoyed a good first day included Brett Angell (73,400), Kuljinder Singh (71,800), Manig Loeser (57,300), Leon Louis (38,500), Nick Wealthall (13,600) and Jamie Burland (11,000).

A bumper field of over 300 will brave the elements in Edinburgh later today with the likes of new PokerStars pro Jake Cody, Asian Player of the Year Sam Razavi and Dutch crooner Marcel Luske all expected to hit the felt.

The action starts at noon.
