Harrah’s have announced, on top of all this furore about some tournament they’re hosting in Las Vegas soon, the schedule for the 2010 World Series of Poker Europe and boy howdy is it a beauty.
A big £1,000 NL event is a standard and probably will be the event boasting the weakest field there. The £5,000 Omaha event returns but absent is the HORSE tournament from last year. In its place, however, is the great idea of a £2,500 6-max NL event which should satisfy online players.Another thing – the £10,000 Heads-Up NL High Roller. That is going to be a joy to watch, I hope to God it’s one of the events they choose to televise. Think about it: the £10,000 Main Event of the WSOPE always attracts possibly the strongest field of any live poker tournament in the world except for perhaps the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. – or should that be Player's Championship? We’re going to be seeing the cream of the crop battle it out in poker’s purest form; it’s going to be fantastic. Of course, I’m not interested in simply watching this year...I intend to be grinding myself up a bankroll on a lot of European sites over the summer, and around the time I hit $0.25/$0.50 regularly and well-bankrolled (by which I mean at least $2,500) I want to hit up Betfair for their $1,500 bonus.Well, if I’m on Betfair I might as well try to qualify at least for the £1,000 event. Hell, if I can qualify for the Main Event I think I’d rather use the cash to enter the smaller NL events then keep the rest. Beautiful thing is a quick blap through the traffic on the A40 means I’m there in 30 minutes and there’s a bike bay round the corner, so the £2,000 odd I get for flight and accommodation are going straight in my pocket.Yeah, I’m definitely doing it. I’ll bring you news of satellites as and when I find it and hopefully see you in Leicester Square this September.
