Earlier today the Crown Casino, Melbourne, announced the schedule for its annual Aussie Millions Poker Championship.
A staple for many of the world’s top players, the 2014 festival will kick off on January 23, 2014, and feature a total of 20 events that will run through until February 10. Last year saw an impressive 629 take part in the AUD$10,000 Aussie Millions Main Event, making it one of the largest poker tournaments in the Southern Hemisphere. Coming through the masses and picking up the AUD$1,600,000 top prize last time around was Mervin Chan. In 2014 the Aussie Main Event will return and be flanked by a slew of other interesting tournaments, such as the AUD$25,000, AUD$100,000 and the AUD$250,000 High Roller events. For those in attendance with slightly less money to burn a selection of AUD$1,000 tournaments will be taking place, including the popular Aussie Millions Accumulator which allows players to enter multiple times and combine their Day 1 stacks at the start of Day 2. Many of the world’s best are expected to attend, including Gus Hansen who said of the event: “It’s the place I keep coming back to for the poker, the Australian Open tennis, the atmosphere, the staff and the Australian people. The exquisite effort by Crown to make it a great event for the novice, the aspiring amateur and the high-stakes pro keeps you coming back time after time.” Check out the full 2014 Aussie Millions schedule.
