Aussie Millions - Raiden Kan Leads

Thursday, 29 January 2015

Nobody has won back-to-back Aussie Millions titles but that unlikely scenario could yet come to pass as Ami Barer is still swinging in Melbourne.

The 2014 champ was one of 30 players to survive day 3 of the $10,000 Main Event at the Crown and will return with a below average, but very workable stack of 443,000.

The man in pole position is Macau regular Raiden Kan (1,775,000) who will start the penultimate day just ahead of Andrew Chen (1,116,500), Brian Rast (1,115,600) and Gerald Karlic (1,08,500).

Phil Ivey's quest for Aussie gold is still alive and the ten-time WSOP bracelet winner will return on Friday with 439,000.

Other notables also still challenging include Richard Lyndaker (943,000), Jan Suchanek (657,000), Tony Hachem (409,000) and Mike 'Timex' McDonald (160,000).

Flying the flag for Blighty are James Rann (684,000) and David Longmate (465,000).

Irish November Niner Eoghan O'Dea enjoyed a deep run before busting in 60th. Joining the Dubliner on the rail but in the money included Benny Spindler, Terrence Chan and Bryan Huang.

The final 30 will resume battle at 12.30pm local time (1.30am GMT), before playing down to a final table of seven.
