The 51 starters in the WPT UK Main Event in Nottingham were whittled down to just 16 by the close of play on Friday with Antoine Saout the man to beat.

The 2009 WSOP Main Event third place finisher won a huge pot just before the close to take a big lead at the head of the chip counts. The Frenchman's set proved plenty good enough to beat Fraser MacIntyre's top pair and propelled him to a monster stack of 2,317,000.

Tamer Kamel (1,782,000) and Ben Warrington (1,294,000) were the only other players to crack the million chip mark by bagging up time. Joining them in the upper reaches of the leader board were Ben Vinson (824,000), Phillip Mighall (611,000) and Najob Kamand (583,000).

Further back but still very much in contention for an extremely deep run are Sylvain Loosli (523,000), long-time chip leader Adrian Mateos (443,000), Jamies Roberts (331,000) and Bluff Europe interviewee and recent high roller runner-up Patrick Leonard (290,000).

Chris Moorman earned some spending money to take on his forthcoming Caribbean cruise after busting in 42nd place. Other familiar figues to make the money included Sin Melin, Sergio Aido, Jake Cody, Yucel Eminoglu and Charles Chattha.
