Anthony Lallouche dominates EPT Warsaw Day 1B

Thursday, 22 October 2009

As expected, numbers were up for Day 1B of the EPT event in Warsaw yesterday. 115 players bought in with 84 remaining by the close of play. Topping the bill on Day 1B was Anthony Lallouche.

After a steady start the Frenchman piled on the pressure as the levels increased to build a stack of 131,475, leaving him behind only Carter Phillips who dominated Day 1A. There must be a sense of déjà vu for Lallouche who led EPT Warsaw after the opening day in 2008. He’ll be hoping for a better finish this time round though as he failed to make the money last year.

A host of big names entered the fray yesterday with Scotty Nguyen, Vitaliy Lunkin, Dario Minieri and Sorel Mizzi all handily placed. ElkY is hanging in there too. The Frenchman is nursing an extremely short stack of 13,225 chips but given his recent run of form it would be unwise to rule him out.

Roberto Romanello was the best of the Brits, finishing the day with a stack of over 51,000. Joining the Welshman on Day 2 will be Richards Grace and Gryko, Nick Gibson, Lisa Taphanel and Sky Poker presenter Michelle Orpe.

A total of 152 players will return to their seats when the action resumes at 11.30am UK time today.
