Another SCOOP title for the UK – Paul Foltyn wins Event #19

Tuesday, 17 May 2011

Players from the UK seem to be doing well out of Black Friday, at least in the major online tournament scene. The high event of SCOOP #19 ($2,100 NL) saw four Brits at the final table as well as Team PokerStars Pro Lex Veldhuis (he’s Dutch but we like him).

Paul “Paolo69” Foltyn was the man with the most chops and run-good in the end, he turned down a deal and went on to win $188,100; he joins not only Jake Cody but Pete Linton and Daniel Morgan in the UK SCOOP winners’ club. Not only that but EPT San Remo champion Rupert Elder has also had a big final table – we’re doing alright, basically.

You probably last heard Paul Foltyn’s name back in October of last year when he took down the GUKPT Brighton for £46,400 – that’s his second GUKPT title after winning the Grand Final in London in 2008 for £167,050. In addition he has a number of WSOP cashes including a final table in the $5,000 NL last year and another in 2006.

Now he’s had a nice bankroll boost just in time for this year’s WSOP – let’s hope he improves on his previous years.

There's still time to get in on the SCOOP action. Take part exclusively at PokerStars with a juicy $600 sign up bonus. Sign up here.
