Andrew Robl appearing on High Stakes Poker

Andrew “good2cu” Robl’s latest blog post has revealed that he was called in as a replacement on High Stakes Poker, receiving a phone call from a GSN producer and told to come down with at least $200,000.

Robl went two hundred thousand better, bringing a $400,000 buy-in to the table which, featuring Patrik Antonius, Tom Dwan and Phil Ivey, “doesn’t get much more challenging than that.”

“I’d have liked a day or two to review their play and examine what I could do to beat them,” high stakes player Robl said. “But that just wasn’t an option. Truthfully, though, at the risk of sounding arrogant, I’m not afraid of anyone at the poker table. So I spent a couple of hours getting mentally prepared and showed up ready to play my best.”

Robl can’t reveal how well he did at the table but says he is happy with his play. Now we’re all wondering who he was replacing, but relieved that Ivey, Antonius and Dwan are still making up the numbers.

“It was the biggest game I ever sat down in and also – considering that I was positioned between Patrik and Phil – the toughest,” Robl wrote. “But I stayed confident and had a really good time, especially after I got used to play suddenly stopping for makeup retouches and camera adjustments.”
