Amaya Can 'Transform' the Gambling Industry

Amaya Can 'Transform' the Gambling Industry

Monday, 16 June 2014

Following on from the news that PokerStars and Full Tilt will now be owned by Amaya Gaming, the company's CEO, David Baazov, has stated that the deal will "transform the entire global gaming industry".

The hotshot executive spoke to investors via a conference call following the announcement of the $4.9 billion takeover and claimed the deal will not only improve Amaya's presence in the industry but the industry itself.

In terms of the Rational Group's (basically Full Tilt and PokerStars) potential, Baazov believes the influence of Amaya could open them up to a global gaming market worth $25 billion, something which would markedly increase the size of each site.

For US poker players the key part of the call was when Baazov addressed the re-entry of PokerStars and Full Tilt into the US market. Citing Amaya's "track records" in the US, he feels there is a greater chance of a "speedier entry" back into the market than would have previously been possible.

How the fortunes of PokerStars and Full Tilt change from here remains to be seen but if they can find away into new markets courtesy of Amaya then it could result in a boost for everyone in the community.
