Alex 'Kanu7' Millar might not be one of the most vocal high stakes players in the world but when it comes to talking with his chips he's one of the best.
After rising from obscurity to become one of the top high stakes players in the world, Millar has now caught the attention of PokerStars who decided to give him his very own blogging platform recently. Designed to give people an insight into his life and his top moment of 2013, Millar used his first blog entry to describe a bizarre moment that involved his girlfriend, Viktor 'Isildur1' Blom, dinner and $250,000. According to Millar, his most memorable moment of last year came during an epic battle with Blom across two tables of $400/$800 No Limit Hold'em. Despite being immersed in the game, Millar found himself distracted by his girlfriend who was asking him if he wanted to join her for dinner. Unsurprisingly, he was somewhat occupied by the match but was able to utter a line many of us dream of "hang on" while I decided whether to call for $250,000. Seemingly unfazed by the amount of money involved, Millar managed to call after a moment's hesitation, win the pot and send Blom off into the distance.Millar was then able to turn to his girlfriend and say: "I just won a quarter of a million dollars, so yeah, dinner sounds great."Those pots not only helped Alex win $3.2 million from Blom in 2013, but make him one of the coolest players in the online poker world. If you haven't read it already, be sure to check out our interview with Alex from the January issue of Bluff Europe.
