Ahmed's lucky One Drop

Ahmed's lucky One Drop

Wednesday, 26 June 2013

After a random draw on WSOP.com, Owais Ahmed will be joining one of this year’s most anticipated Las Vegas events.

The $111,111 buy-in The Big One For One Drop charity event is scheduled to kick off later today and Ahmed is sure to feel luckier than most after winning a seat alongside the likes of Antonio Esfandiari and Phil Laak via a prize draw.

As part of its ongoing promotion, WSOP.com has been selecting one random player who signed up to their platform each day to play in the following day’s tournament. Yesterday it was Ahmed’s lucky day and as a reward for filling in a few online forms he is now preparing to sit down in the festival’s biggest event.
Having already cashed three times this year including a second place finish in Event #15 for $159,950, Ahmed will likely be confident of his chances but the debate currently raging is whether he should sell his action.

This follows the news that a number of players have suggested that he sell up to 90 percent of his action at face value and play in The Big One For One Drop like a $10,000 tournament. Indeed, it seems as though Ahmed agrees with this line of though as he took to Twitter earlier today to offer shares saying: “Hit me up if you want a large chunk of my One Drop action”.

The Big One For One Drop high roller will bring together some of the game’s finest players and help raise almost $1 million for charity when it kicks off later today.
