GUKPT Thanet Final Table Set
Nine players will contest the final of the £1,000 main event of the 8th leg of the GUKPT at the G casino on the Isle of Thanet. They are the surviving players from a field of 226 and will fight it out for the first prize of just under £69,000 and a seat in November’s £3,000 grand final.

WPT North American Poker Championship: Witmer Wins.
Even though he had the chip advantage coming to the final six, many were still surprised when he held off the assault of the more experienced players around him. Gavin Smith came close to securing his second WPT title, eventually losing to the 67 year-old retiree heads-up.

PokerStars say 'ciao' to Italy
PokerStars today announced the launch of PokerStars.it, which signals a landmark development in building an Italian only version of the largest online poker site in the world. This addition to the PokerStars family comes days after the AAMS (Amministrazione Autonoma dei Monopoli di Stato) granted PokerStars the licence to offer online poker in Italy.

A Fortnight Until Free Money

Gavin Smith and Kathy Liebert Make Final Table at WPT NAPC
A total of 27 players returned for Day Four of the WPT North American Poker Championships, with some well known professionals still in the hunt for the title. The pace began quickly, with the elimination of the short-stacked “Miami” John Cernuto in 27th.

Gavin Smith Leads with 99 Left in WPT North American Championships
A total of 454 players have entered this year's North American Poker Championship at Niagra Falls, generating a prize pool of CAD $4.37 million. With 45 due to get paid, Canadian pro Gavin Smith leads the way at the end of Day 2.
PartyPoker.com Premier League Returns
The PartyPoker.com Premier League returns to London from the 24th - 30th November 2008. PartyPoker.com Premier League Poker III sees the buy-in elevated to $75,000 and the added money raised to $350,000, making a total prize pool of $1.25 million. The next event wasn't due to take place until 2009 but the demands of international broadcasters for coverage of the event has brought it forward!
