Four days after the first of a record-breaking 1,143 players took to the felt at Melbourne’s Crown Casino; we have a winner in the opening event of the Aussie Millions 2010 tournament series.

GUKPT heads to Bolton
The Grosvenor UK Poker Tours returns to a very familiar venue for the opening leg of the 2010 series. Praz Bansi was victorious in the first ever GUKPT event in Bolton in 2007 and the G Casino will again host this year’s opening event.

Aussie Millions Opening Event Day 1c completed
The total number of registrations for the opening event of the 2010 Aussie Millions tournament series – a $1,100 NLHE event – has broken records by generating 1,143 total entries and setting records as the largest poker tournament in Australia.
Chinese Taipei win World Cup of Poker VI
It’s not just football that is hosting a World Cup this year. Poker’s equivalent took place towards the end of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in the Bahamas last week with nine countries involved in the finals.

Aussie Millions Opening Event Day 1b completed
This year’s Aussie Millions opening event is looking to be the biggest yet. On Day 1a, 327 players registered for the event with 357 more joining them on Day 1b.
Kara Scott signs with PartyPoker
For someone with such presence in the poker community, Kara Scott has taken a while to find herself a sponsorship deal. However, PartyPoker have now stepped in and taken the leggy Canadian on board – hopefully boyfriend and Full Tilt Pro Brian “sbrugby” Townsend won’t get too upset at her signing with a rival site.
Help the Haiti earthquake appeal with PokerStars
The devastating scenes from Haiti have prompted PokerStars to do its bit for the earthquake disaster relief effort. The online giant has started a campaign that will enable poker players to donate funds to the Red Cross. PokerStars has also said that it will match each donation, dollar for dollar.
William Reynolds wins PCA High Roller event
William Reynolds is better off to the tune of $526,240 after being crowned PokerStars Caribbean Adventure High Roller champion. The youngster from Sioux City, Iowa sealed the victory, beating fellow Will, Will Molson heads up.
