A trio of the nine competitors set to go at it as part of this month’s World Series Of Poker (WSOP) main event will be sporting 888poker patches.
Continuing a strategy it has used over the last few years, 888poker will be a visible presence at the closing stages of the WSOP main event via sponsorships of Joe McKeehen, Neil Blumenfield and Thomas Cannuli. With almost $8 million on the line for this year's eventual winner, the WSOP finale will no doubt court a lot of attention when the cards go in the air on November 8. Naturally, the sponsorship of McKeehen should give 888poker a fair bit of exposure during the finale as the young American is currently the runaway chip leader. With more than 30 million chips than his closest rival, Zvi Stern, McKeehen is likely to feature heavily during the finale and that should give 888poker a healthy amount of exposure during ESPN's broadcasts.Of course, being a poker company, 888poker has hedged its bets and decided to throw its support behind two additional hopefuls in Blumenfield and Cannuli. Blumenfield is currently third in the chip table while Cannuli is sixth and this means that 888poker has a decent spread heading into the final session. As well as gaining some international recognition for its brand, 888poker will also be hoping the deals with the American finalists will help to increase its visibility in Nevada and New Jersey. Although it currently has a strong footing in each market, the extra exposure generated by the WSOP main event final should help it to increase its liquidity in both states over the coming weeks.
