25/25 London a Record Breaker

Monday, 30 March 2015

The London leg of the Grosvenor 25/25 Series was always likely to be big but even organisers were a little taken aback when the final numbers were tallied up.

Over the three opening day flights at the Poker Room at the Vic, a massive field of 469 runners took to the tables. That represents a record for the 25/25 Series, breaking the 460 who took part in last year's event at the Goliath festival in Coventry.

With big sums of money on offer, the final eight in London agreed a final table chop to level the payouts.

In the end it was Sherif Agamir who prevailed, pipping Martin Bader to the trophy. They both took home £14,330 apiece with no fewer than eight players turning £200 into at least five grand!
