Chris Ferguson has always come across as something of a renaissance man. How many poker players do you know who combine a love of academic computer science and swing dancing?
It looks like “Jesus” will be adding another string to his already extensive bow by becoming entering the movie business. It's believed that Ferguson, along with Tiltware CEO Ray Bitar have invested in a new film and TV company called RCR Pictures.Robin Schorr, the woman behind the RCR confirmed that their first project will be a remake of the 1960s Western Nevada Smith that starred Steve McQueen but that there could be a poker related film sometime in the future. And what exactly will Ferguson be doing? Well it won't necessarily be at the creative end of the project. Speaking at Deadline.com Schorr said, “Chris is not going to be reading scripts every weekend. When you are investing in development smartly, you can end up with so much more than if you put money into production financing. $5 million or $10 million can get you on the ground floor of many projects, and we hope to have a slate of 15 projects or more by the end of the year.
