The latest Main Event of the 2012 London Poker Festival gets under way later today as the English Poker Open hits the Fox Poker Club.
The first of two opening flights of the four-day, £2,000+£180 Main Event gets under way at Shaftesbury Avenue venue at 2pm today with the second opening flight following at the same time tomorrow. Players will start with 25,000 chips and a 60 minute clock with a total of nine levels scheduled for the opening flights. Top pros set to play in the £250,000 guaranteed event include World Series of Poker bracelet winners Praz Bansi and James “Flushy” Dempsey, Irish Open Champion James Mitchell, WSOP November Niner James Akenhead and legend of UK poker and WPT Champion Surinder Sunar amongst the big names set to take part. This weekend's WPT Grand Prix de Paris finalist Fabian Quoss won the last English Open in 2010.
