Series organisers PokerStars have announced that September's World Championship Of Online Poker (WCOOP) Main Event will feature a guaranteed prize pool worth at least $10 million.
The two-day, $5,200 buy-in WCOOP 2015 main event starts on 27 September and promises to be one of the richest online poker events of the year.There are plenty of opportunities to get in on the action ion the cheap thanks to a plethora of online satellites covering all stake levels. The Mega Path satellites allow players a shot at playing in the showpiece WCOOP event for as little as one frequent player point."Last year, a total of 77 players qualified for the $5,200 main event through the Mega Path and PokerStars hopes to see a significant increase on that figure in 2015," read a statement from PokerStars."In 2012, Russian player ‘maratik’ qualified for just 40 frequent player points and went on to win the main event for $1 million. The $5,200 buy-in world championship tournament is the richest and most prestigious event of the online poker calendar with previous events having exceeded the $10 million prize pool mark on four occasions."
